Yes, this started out as a Top 10 list. But sadly, two was all I could come up. Recently, it seems no matter where I go, I’m met with the absolute worst in customer service. This morning I’m putting off a call to my bank (who shall be nameless unless they don’t resolve my erroneous [...]
What happens if I miss my flight?
After travelling recently to the land of endless entertainment and overpriced coffee–otherwise known as Las Vegas, it occurred to me McCarran International Airport has to be ranked pretty high on the list for the most missed flights. (I could be mistaken–all the mad sprinting through the terminals could simply be a hangover cure of which [...]

Are you crushed by the lack of snow this winter and instead of a trip to Cancun for Spring Break are deciding a trek to Alaska might be a necessity to cure the winter blues? This article might help… How to Pack Your Ski Equipment for Flying Author: Andrew Gibson Have you ever gone on [...]
Why Charging for Luggage is actually COSTING airlines more money (Open letter to the Airline Industry)
Dear Airline Industry, My name is Joe Customer. I am a frequent flyer and love traveling. Occasionally, I enjoy bringing some clothes and a toothbrush with me. Why have you created such a mess out of everything that I now prefer to stay at home and watch the Travel Channel instead of step foot in [...]
Spirit Airlines to start charging for PRINTING your boarding pass (not a joke)
Spirit to start charging for PRINTING your boarding pass – bring it on! I recently read an in-depth interview with CEO of Spirit Airlines, Ben Baldanza. Mom was right: Cutting coupons is the way to go… even for air travel
It’s no secret my favorite airline is Virgin America. And here is yet another reason why they rock. Coupons for booking your travel with them. That’s right. Last month Virgin became the first airline to offer coupons on the uber-popular site Groupon, with a nice offer to save $70 on airfare purchased that particular day. [...]
Online Ticket Purchasing is Changing: So What Can We Expect for 2011?
If anyone has conducted a recent search for a plane ticket, you know that things have gotten even more complicated. New search engines like Bing and Hipmunk have cropped up, and now even Google is entering the airline ticket business. (They’re like a Jewish mother-in-law—just can’t keep their hands out of anything.) American Airlines recently [...]
Spirit Air to Charge for Carryons: the end of the world as we know it
This month Spirit Airlines, the little airline that could, began charging customers $45 for a single piece of carryon luggage.
In case you missed it, that’s FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS to take a backpack with you on a plane. That’s likely double what your bag cost to purchase, and probably more than what the entire contents are worth.
The Idiocy Behind Baggage Fees
Does this situation sound familiar? You and your honey bunny pack your adorable matching suitcases for a weekend getaway to the Bahamas. You spend the weekend sipping Coronas by the pool, making sweet love on white sandy beaches, and as your vacation comes to a close, you stroll arm-in-arm back to the airport, where you are met with an unexpected disaster: A ticket agent informing you your bags are over their self-imposed weight limit, and you need to pay and extra $50, or throw out your belongings.
